Jaguar Land Rover Limited to Build Engine Plant in China

It is reported by Automotive News Europe Version recently that Jaguar British car company Jaguar Land Rover Limited confirms to set up the first overseas engine plant in China, to support the automobile production of new factory in Changshu.
According to IanHarnett, the purchasing manager of JLR, the new factory of Jaguar Land Rover and its joint venture partner Chery will put into production in late 2014 or early 2105. He also disclosed that an Ingenium four-cylinder engine plant will be set up for this. There will also be a formal establishment ceremony, while the specific time has not yet been revealed.
In addition, Bob Grace, the CEO of Jaguar Land Rover China, disclosed that the new factory will be put into production for a new model Land Rover vehicle - Evoque.
It is reported that JLR sets up a target in Chinese market: 150,000 sales volume before 2015, which shows the vital importance of Chinese market to the development of the company. Although it did not disclose the quotient of global market, analysts forecast that China sales profit, giving priority to Range Rover and sport cars, will be accounted for over 50% of the total profits.
Besides, Jaguar Land Rover which is affiliated with to India Tata Motors Limited will also build a new engine plant in central England. New Jaguar XE will be the first model to use new gasoline and diesel engine made by its UK factory, replacing car engines provided by Ford currently.
