Automobiles are becoming more and more popular in families. Therefore, vehicle engine, which is known as the heart of automobile, is no longer a plain mechanical noun. To clean engines and change oil correctly has been a topic that attached attentions of all owners of automobiles.

Under the influence of fuel combustion temperature and catalytic action of various mediums and metal during work, lubricating oil of engines gradually turn to metamorphic and old. Harmful matters like carbon deposition, paint film and greasy filth are produced during this process and destroy engines. These changes take place in different parts of engines and ultimately silt up the oil-way and friction surface. These result in insufficient lubrication and accelerated abrasion that imperil the normal use of engines all the time. Thus, in order to guarantee the safety use of vehicle, owners should know some tips on cleaning engines and changing engine oil apart from the correct selection of lubrication products.

For those new cars or cars with newly changed engines, they own short travelled distance and good status. Therefore, the following tips are totally enough to make sure safety use.

First, choose engine oil with suitable quality and viscosity grade.

Second, you’d better change oil after travelling some certain distance to make the oil flow evenly in engines and bring out various deposits together. Or at least, to start the car for several minutes before changing oil.

Third, do not close the oil drain hole at the bottom of engine instantly after discharging oil into a prepared vessel through it. Make it open for a spell of time to make sure all resid in the engine have been discharged completely.

Forth, notice the status of discharged oil. If the oil is thick, stinky and has stratification phenomenon, it is suggested to shorten the cycle of changing oil. If it comes with strong fuel smell, it indicates weak seal of combustion chamber and maintenance is required.

Five, close the bolt of oil drain hole before changing the oil filter of engine.

Six, wipe up the oil feeding orifice at the top of engine firstly. Then open the orifice and add new oil into the engine until it reaches the specified upper limit. Starting and idling cars for several minutes after closing the orifice.

Seventh, check the oil dipstick and properly replenish oil to the upper limit. Then close the oil feeding orifice and end the changing oil process.
